Unemployment Compensation and Insurance

Administered by the Unemployment Insurance Division of the State Department of Labor, unemployment benefits help people who used to have jobs but now do not. These people must have worked long enough to qualify for benefits and still look for work. They must also have been fired for any reason except misconduct or quit with good cause.
